ASVAB Test Electronics Section

The electronics section of the ASVAB contains 20 questions within a 9 minute time frame. These questions focus on the properties of electricity, waves, and some physics. You may be asked to assess the flow of electricity related to parallel circuits, and resistance values on the ASVAB test. Included here are some helpful formulas that may help you understand the electronics section of the ASVAB test better.

Waves

Wavelength- the distance between the highest points of a wave.

Amplitude- half of the height of a wave, from the top of a crest to the bottom of a trough.

Key Formulas

Acceleration =

Change in Velocity
Total Time

Power =

F x D
T

Power= Voltage x Current

Watts=Voltage x Amperes

Ohm’s law, V = I*R

I = current

V = potential difference

R = resistance

Work=Force x Distance
